Our classes are taught in our own classrooms by a number of highly trained professionals with several years experience, who have learnt using the methods of patchwork gurus Mary Ellen Hopkins and Kaye England.

Our classes cater for both beginner and advanced quilters. We have a minimum of four students, with a maximum of eight per class.

If you are interested in one of our classes, but the day or time does not suit you, contact us for alternative dates. We vary our classes throughout the year to suit your needs.

Please note a 50% deposit is required on all class bookings. This deposit is non-refundable after 7 days prior to the commencement of the class, unless the class has been cancelled due to insufficient numbers.

Our coffee morning is a great opportunity for you to get out of the house, meet like minded souls and enjoy a chat and a cuppa while you create. Bring along your latest hand project or pick up one of the many kits/patterns we have available in the shop.

We'd like to hear from you if the second Wednesday of each month is not suitable for you. Register your interest by suggesting an alternative day or time and we will try to accommodate!

Christmas Monthly- $15 per month

Each month we will be offering a different Christmas project that you can make for either yourself or as a gift.  There will be decorations, cards, wall hangings, coasters and place mats etc. We will be ready for Christmas 2008 – will you?

Roxanne will work with you in this class to help you create using one of Jan Mullen's Stargazey patterns.  She has made wall hangings, and table runners or you may just want help creating one of the many quilt patterns available.  These patterns are fun to do and you are limited only by your own imagination – or the imagination of others in the class.   You must have purchased a Stargazey pattern to work on in class.

Thursday 21 Aug -

This class comprises of drafting, fast rotary cutting, machine piecing and understanding how different fabric layouts give the same block a different look.

Roxanne has designed this Log Cabin Quilt that creates a stunning twist to a traditional block.  As it is a large quilt, she gives you the option of making a smaller version and is willing to help you create your masterpiece using the many tips she has to make sewing log cabins easier.  Take a look at the sample in store.

This class is a chance for you to bring along those UFO’s (Unfinished Quilts, Table Runners, or Bags etc) and get some help to finish them off.  What a great way to empty out the cupboards!

Roxanne will help you improve your machine quilting skills using the Skill builder 1 panel.  The cost of the kit includes the skill builder pre-printed panel, batting, backing and the Skill builder Companion book to take home as a refresher.

This Christmas wall hanging is a great way to display all those cute Festive buttons that we seem to collect each year.  You can make it for your children or grand children for Christmas, then each year add another button to their collection.  Machine pieced, you are also taught how to use the Easy Angle™ ruler - fast and easy.

Friday 12 & 19 Sept -

Need somewhere to keep those finished blocks, half finished stitcheries or Christmas works of art?   Want your Tea Towel to dry dishes?

Roxanne has designed this Block Album for you to make that will keep your blocks up to 15” square flat.  It also has pockets on the inside to store your pattern, book, magazine or bits and pieces.  You can choose to incorporate her stitchery or appliqué on the front – or use your own design or favorite.

In continuing Jenny’s Strip Club tradition, she has created this quilt using a Jelly Roll and a Charm Pack. 

A great way to use those Jelly Rolls and Charm packs that we all seem to be collecting!

Eight designs to choose from:  Roses, Calla Lilies, Poppies, Pansies, Strelitzia, Wild Rose [Fairy] (pictured), Christmas Table runner and Bright and Beautiful.

Always wanted to do Stained Glass but worried about the time and effort?  This technique looks just like stained glass but without all the hard work.  The blocks vary in size, and composition, but the technique is the same for all the designs.

A sweet scrappy style table runner with a stitched verse on the border - that is easily achieved.  Who would not want one of these gracing the table at Christmas?

Tuesday 14 & 28 Oct -

All machine pieced – Roxanne has designed this Advent Calender that you will have up and finished this year.  It incorporates pockets and treasured messages that the young or young at heart can use to count down the days until Santa’s arrival.

This quilt gives a kaleidoscope effect, yet it is easy to do. Come and have fun while Roxanne helps you to create your own masterpiece. Take a look at our sample.

Thursday 16 Oct -

You can never have too many table runners – or friends/family to give them too.  This runner is designed to highlight you main feature fabric – and the woven effect looks much harder to achieve than it is.  Roxanne will be happy to show you how you can adapt this technique to a different size – and of course you don’t have to make it for Christmas – you could use flowers, butterflies, dogs or cats etc – just depends if you want dogs on the table!!

Need a Santa sack for your child, grandchild, husband or yourself?  This fits the bill.  This roomy bag not only features gorgeous appliqué, including a special thank you message for Santa, but also includes some handy pockets for Santa to hide extra little treats.

You will come away from this ‘hands on’ workshop with confidence in colours and choosing fabrics that go together.  Judie teaches you the principals of the colour wheel and how it works.  Come and be blown away with knowledge.

You will be surprised and excited about how quickly and easily you can make these lovely gifts.  First we have a table runner – I call this ‘The One Hour Project’.  Then we have placemats in the flip and quilt-as-you-go technique.  Last, but not least, we have a beautiful bag featuring just a little machine appliqué and some tiny rusty bells.  Come in and see all of these projects in store now.
